There are so many great artists out there who simply needs a break or the right time to "get released" to the pop-driven public. Artists like him should never aspire to be popular because they are the gem that only those who truly listens to great music can identify. There should be a group of artists like him who plays in a regular place where people can go and marvel at their talents.

When is BART going to begin enforcing the "no full bike" rule in the morning headed to San Francisco? Got on the SF Millbrae train (which was 10 minutes late) at 19th Street this morning...the train was crowded and there was this idiot/guy with a full bike taking up two seats and at least 3 standing room only spaces with his bike. When I asked him to adjust the bike to allow me to stand in the little space between trains he said "the bike won't move, what do you want me to do lady"??? The he began glaring at me when my laptop bag accidentally brushed up against the bike, at one point my body brushed up against the bike when the train stopped suddenly at the West Oakland station and he became very hostile. "Don't touch my bike" I am an avid cyclist and advocate people riding their bikes to commute to work/school ...but idiots like the guy this morning make it bad for all cyclists on BART. Thanks

I always look at this filthy, shaggy monstrosity and wonder whether it has a practical function, like as a flood barrier that gets lowered into the BART tracks if the bay were to ever find its way into the trans-bay tube... now that I've discovered that this is not its purpose, a) I hope there's some other emergency flood barrier in place, and b) this nasty thing has gotta go... no disrespect to its creator; I'm sure there was a time when it was an attractive addition to Embarcadero Station, but all good things come to an end, and I agree that it must soon become a health issue for passengers... maybe this spacious wall of the station can be adorned with something new, bright and beautiful... a mural or mosaic? Something more cheery for people like me, drudging to work up the escalator each morning... and something requiring less maintenance??

Had to print the Bike BART hours from the BART website to figure out when I could get hom with my bike. It's not very clear. There has to be an easier way to communicate the restrictions. I would favour bike trains during commute hours, BART is limiting it's ridership and forcing potential BART bikers into autos with the commute restrictions. Btw I can't get on a EBay train until 6:41 pm. Anyone want to get coffee for an hour?

In the early 1970's Barbara Shawcroft was my textile/sculpture teacher at B.U. She was a wonderful teacher -- inspiring, daring and respected in her field and by her students and peers. She had installations in Japan and throughout Europe, including the Lausanne Biennale. It is a shame that this piece has not been cared for.
